Royal decree drought for the Ebro


The Ministry of Environment last of a royal decree for the Ebro drought with the goal of the Council of Ministers will adopt it as soon as possible, according to Europa Press reported today sources of this department, after that yesterday the Ebro Hydrographic Confederation ( CHE) unanimously asked the Government a decree extraordinary measures by drought in the Ebro basin.
The chairman of the Ebro Hydrographic Confederation (CHE), Jose Luis Alonso said that the drought situation in the whole basin is frankly bad as it is within one of the worst in a hundred fifteen years and is the worst the past five years, a period in which, in addition to this, there have been two years of drought, specifically in the years 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 water.

The Executive extended in October 2007 decrees drought Júcar, Segura Guadalquivir and the head of the Tagus, but did not go to the Ebro in the Guadiana because the situation was not so bad. The first extraordinary measures to manage the drought were adopted in 2005 by two royal decree-law, one for Guadiana Guadalquivir and Ebro and another for Júcar, Tajo and Segura. In 2006, as these measures were extended to Segura, Júcar and Guadalquivir.

La cuenca del Ebro se encuentra esta semana al 46,4 por ciento de su capacidad total, con 3.437 hectómetros cúbicos de agua embalsada, mientras que la media de los 10 últimos años es de 6.703 hectómetros cúbicos y el año pasado contaba con 5.877 hectómetros cúbicos embalsada water.
